In 2001, Cheryl Woody began working at Two Tulips after her husband walked into the store one day and said to the previous owner, “Wow, Cheryl would love working in here.” Cheryl worked in the store, helping customers and learning the business for 5 years before she decided to buy it in 2006. The step to ownership fulfilled and accomplished a lifetime goal.
Born and raised in Parke County, IN, Cheryl graduated with a degree in retail management from Purdue University. Fresh out of college, she worked at L.S. Ayers and May Co. until after having her first child, when she decided to stay home to raise her two girls. She spent the first 13 years out of college relocating about every 3 years as her husband was an officer in the Navy. During his long stints of deployment, Cheryl learned to use her creativity to find fun things to do with her daughters. Throughout her child-raising years, Cheryl has volunteered and worked in various positions at the schools her daughters attended. The Woody’s have lived in the Lafayette area since the mid-1990s.
